Land Art asks if there is a relationship between nature and art, inspiring artists to create Art in an urban or natural environment.
Land art is usually produced outside, using natural materials such as rocks, soil, flowers, logs and branches. Producing any form of art which enhances the immediate surroundings.
The materials may be brought in from outside the environment and used in another, to make a statement, such as bringing ice into the urban environment in summer.
The land art produced is usually left to decay, often being photographed at various stages, to capture the moment. It is not usually taken away and this is one of the reasons why it is photographed.
